STEM SUMMER SCHOOL
OVERVIEW
Welcome to the Samiad STEM Summer School – a place where bright young minds come together from around the world to experiment, explore and grow.
Designed for curious learners aged 8-17, our STEM education summer camp brings Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics to life through hands-on projects and fun team challenges.
Our Teen STEM Programme, delivered across two themed weeks. Students don’t just study STEM concepts, they use them to survive. Whether building the first human colony on Mars or engineering defences during a Zombie Apocalypse, STEM becomes a practical tool for problem-solving, decision-making and innovation.
Hosted at prestigious UK boarding schools, the programme combines academic enrichment with English development, cultural exchange and memorable excursions. With small class sizes, supportive staff and a truly international community, this STEM summer school is where confidence grows, friendships form, and passions are discovered.
ABOUT THE STEM SUMMER SCHOOL
At Samiad, we believe learning should feel inspiring, practical and joyful. Our STEM UK summer school invites students to think like engineers, scientists and innovators by designing solutions to real challenges rather than memorising theory.
Each day combines:
- Hands-on builds and experiments
- Collaborative missions and challenges
- Applied science and engineering concepts
- Team presentations and mission briefings
Students might build robots, extract “Martian ice” to create water, code simulations to track outbreaks or engineer renewable energy systems. Every workshop is designed to show how STEM applies to the real world.
Our experienced tutors support students at every level, whether they are trying STEM for the first time or deepening an existing interest. Outside lessons, students enjoy a full residential summer school experience with sports, social activities, beautiful campuses and excursions to iconic UK locations. English development happens naturally through teamwork, discussion and presentations, helping students grow academically and socially.
OUR TEACHERS
Samiad had a selective recruitment process, hiring only the best STEM teachers.
Our specialist team works with students aged 11–16, delivering engaging, hands-on lessons in science, technology, engineering and maths. Classes blend practical experiments, problem-solving challenges and real-world applications to inspire curiosity and build confidence.
With teachers who understand how to motivate teens and stretch their abilities, Samiad creates an exciting learning environment where students can develop critical thinking skills, explore new STEM concepts and gain a strong foundation for future academic pathways.
THE MISSION FRAMEWORK
Across two weeks, students tackle a sequence of STEM survival challenges, all tied to the team’s success. Each challenge involves:
- Design & Build – hands-on creation of models, prototypes, or experiments.
- Testing – trialling ideas and refining solutions.
- Presentation – pitching to peers and staff in English.
- Competition – colonies compete for limited “resources” to keep their mission alive.
SNAPSHOT LESSON: HABITAT DESIGN CHALLENGE
THE STORY
A deadly dust storm is approaching. Colonies must design a safe and sustainable habitat to protect their crew and ensure long-term survival on Mars.
THE ACTIVITY
- Teams sketch and construct prototype shelters using limited materials.
- They calculate resource use (oxygen, food, water) and factor sustainability.
- Each group presents their design to the “Mission Council” (teachers and peers).
- Colonies compete for survival points based on practicality, creativity, and persuasiveness.
WHAT STUDENTS ARE REALLY LEARNING
- Science– forces, materials, energy, sustainability.
- Maths – measurements, resource calculations, problem-solving.
- Engineering – designing, building, and testing prototypes.
- Collaboration– managing roles and working in diverse teams.
- English in Action– pitching ideas, answering questions, persuading an audience.
- Innovation & Resilience– adapting when ideas don’t work first time.
THE END GOAL
By the end of the lesson, students have created a tangible product, explained it in English, and experienced the thrill of solving problems as a team – with measurable gains in STEM knowledge and communication confidence.
Parents see real STEM learning in action. Students see themselves as innovators shaping humanity’s future on Mars.

All lessons, accommodation, meals, activities, excursions, materials and supervision are included. Students are cared for around the clock, making it a complete residential experience.
Absolutely. Our tutors support all levels and ensure lessons remain inclusive, accessible and enjoyable for both beginners and advanced learners.
Yes, English is integrated through projects, presentations and daily communication, helping students improve naturally while learning STEM.
The programme is open to students aged 8–17, with classes and accommodation grouped appropriately.
Very. Students experiment, code, build and create, learning through doing rather than lecture-style teaching.
Student safety and wellbeing come first. With a 1:6 supervision ratio, secure campuses and experienced staff, parents can feel confident their children are always supported.
This is a learning-focused programme that combines STEM education, English development, cultural experiences and global friendship, perfect for families seeking enrichment, not just entertainment.
