Samiad English Language International Summer School

Our programs have welcomed 5000 students from 80 countries, fostering a dynamic and diverse community. All students at SAMIAD International Summer School will participate in at least 15 hours of engaging English lessons each week, with Academy Intensive English Students having a further 6 hours each week.

Our teachers are all qualified native speakers and our approach in centred around fluency & confidence. English is spoken in a real world situation around the campus, during the activity programme and in the boarding houses.

International Summer School FAQs

To apply online please click here and complete the form with as much detail as possible. Alternatively, you can complete our application form and email it to info@samiad.com or a member of our team who has been helping you. We will also need a copy of your child’s passport and if you have completed the form online we will also ask you to sign our consent form. (This is included in our paper application form). Once we have received your application form, we will confirm that we have reserved a place for your child by sending a confirmation letter. This letter will confirm the course, campus and dates you have chosen as well as payment details and a unique reference number. Please use the reference number provided when making any payments so that we can allocate the payments successfully.

Once you have applied for one of our summer school’s online or emailed us with our application form, we will contact you confirming your reservation and requesting payment.

We accept bank transfer; the details are on the bottom of the acceptance letter we will email to you.

We also have an online payment system if you wish to pay by card. Follow this link and complete the necessary steps.

Please make sure to quote the reference number on the letter to help us track the payment for your child successfully.

Yes, each year students travel from all over the world to come to Samiad, including outside the EU. Once we have received your fees, we will send you the required documents for applying for the visa along with a step-by-step guide of how to apply.

We have a comprehensive pre-arrival guide that you should read before arriving. This details exactly what you should bring with you, but also what to expect from the UK and Samiad Summer School. It also contains important information and contact details for key personal at the campus you have chosen. This will be sent to your email once payment has been received.

Yes, it is wise to bring spending money for souvenirs, sweets, drinks and presents. We suggest approximately £50 per week. We can look after valuables such as passports, travel documents and pocket money in the school safe, however, we suggest that your child brings as little valuables as possible.

Yes of course, if your child knows someone or is travelling with someone, we can accommodate room sharing requests as long as they are the same gender. We do however have an age divide in our boarding accommodation, so if you want your child to share with someone who is much older or younger than your son or daughter this might not always be possible.

The majority of things are provided for you by Samiad during your stay, but here are a few key things that you will need to bring:

  • Documents required to prove your visa status, if required
  • Clothes, suitable for outdoor activities, as well as a mixture of clothing for warm and cold weather as sometimes the weather in the UK can catch us out.
  • A small amount of spending money, in order to buy memorabilia from any trips etc.
  • Insurance information
  • Toiletries including a towel
  • Any specific medical treatment or requirements
  • Suitable shoes for both sports activities and excursions
  • A European adaptor to charge mobile phones etc
  • Swimwear (Trent and Box Hill campuses)
  • A full list is included in the pre-arrival guide that will be sent to you once we have received your deposit.

Yes, all students attending Samiad Summer School must have travel insurance to cover such possible eventualities as medical expenses, loss of luggage, cancelled or delayed flights.

Yes, a member of the Samiad team will be there to meet each student that has arranged an airport transfer. In most cases you will know in advance who this person will be. Please check the airline rules for those intending to travel as an unaccompanied minor, as sometimes they require the contact information of the person meeting them on arrival. This can be arranged as we often get individual students arriving, as well as large and small groups travelling together.

All students will arrive on Sunday afternoon, but times may vary by a few hours. There are people on campus 24 hours a day and activities will be running all day on a Sunday. You are able to arrive in the morning on Sunday, but you may not be able to check in to your room until 3pm.

Minor delays of less than an hour will not require additional transport to be arranged and the original member of staff will wait to meet the student(s). If the delay is longer than an hour, new transfer arrangements can be made, however these may incur an additional cost.

The maximum class sizes for English classes are 15, however, occasionally groups will come together when required for group exercises. Please follow this link to our dedicated English classes page.

All children will sleep in quality approved school boarding facilities in single, twin rooms or quad rooms. Boys and girls are separated, and children will be placed in groups of a similar age range. If siblings or friends would like to share a room, please contact us prior to arrival and this can be arranged.

You can contact the campus manager or assistant manager at any time via the telephone numbers on the letters provided during the application process.

Alternatively, you can contact Samiad’s head office and we will get someone from the campus to contact you back directly.

All our campuses benefit from on site security. We have a mixture of CCTV and security patrols. In addition to this, Samiad have an industry leading overnight staff : student ratio of 1:6

We can cater for most dietary requirements and the catering teams have a vast amount of experience dealing with requests. Please include as much detail as you can on the application form.

On the morning of the departure day, students are asked to check out of their rooms. If they have an afternoon or evening flight, then they can leave their luggage in a secure room and join in with the daily activities. Students who have arranged an airport transfer will be accompanied by a member of the Samiad team. We then help to check in each student before seeing them safely through to the departure lounge. For those travelling as an unaccompanied minor we will ensure that they are handed over to a member of the airline staff and that the plane takes off, before departing.
